Getting Involved
We want to provide good-quality and affordable housing services that meet your expectations and needs, so your views are important to us. You can take part in discussion on a range of housing issues and activities which help form the services we provide.
Below is a list of the different ways you can get involved. If you want to take part in decision-making at CHP, contact the Quality of Life team on 01245 613000 or email:

Tenant and Leaseholder Forums
We have six Area Forums, one Central Tenants Forum and one Leaseholders Forum. Two members from each Area Forum make up the Central Forum and two leasehold members from each area make up the Leaseholders Forum.
The Tenant's Forum and the Leaseholder Forum are the main places where tenant and leaseholder issues are discussed.
Amongst other things, these groups look at issues such as communications, antisocial behaviour, neighbour nuisance, property adaptations, property standards, parking, tenancy terms and conditions, rent setting and capital and renovation programmes.
For more information about the Leaseholders Forum email: chris.sambrook@chelmerhp.org.uk or call Chris Sambrook on 01245 613100.
For more information about the Tenant's Forum visit the Tenant's Forum website - www.chptenantsforum.org.uk
Our Tenancy Support Officer provides administrative support for the Central Forum. For more information email: selina.philpott@chelmerhp.org.uk or call Selina on 01245 613074.
Board of management
Five independently elected tenant or leasehold members also make up one-third of the CHP Board of Management.
If you are interested in becoming a tenant (or leasehold) director on the board you must first become a member of the company.
As a member of the company you will have more say in the way your home is managed and will be able to vote at CHP'S AGM on issues such as who sits on the Board of Directors. If you are interested fill in the application form for a tenant or the application form for a leaseholder as appropriate and return to Bobbie Charlick, Assistant Company Secretary.
Street Representatives
We have over 400 Street Reps. These are a mixture of tenants, leaseholders and owner occupiers. Street Reps play a vital role in helping us improve local neighbourhoods by being the eyes and ears on estates. They report on issues that affect their neighbourhoods and put forward the opinions of local people.
Tenant/resident associations
These enable people to discuss local issues and are open to tenants and residents of a specific area. We actively support tenant/resident associations (providing publicity, administrative support and room hire, for example). We also encourage the setting up of new ones. If you live in an area that you feel is not fully represented and would like to be involved in such a group contact the Quality of Life team on 01245 613000 or email:
