New Build HomeBuy (Shared Ownership)
What is New Build HomeBuy?
New Build HomeBuy is a programme that helps people who wish to buy a property but cannot afford to buy on the open market. Most of the people eligible are people in housing need, for example council or housing association tenants or key workers.
Most people who apply for HomeBuy are first time buyers, but we can also assist people who have outgrown their current home or suffered a relationship breakdown.
Who can apply?
If your earnings are too low to raise a mortgage to buy on the commercial market, you may apply for shared ownership. If you have enough cash to buy a share in a property, but not enough to buy outright, you will be eligible to apply. In addition, you must show a 'housing need' although we recognise and support the desire for home ownership as part of this.
How do I apply?
You must first be registered with the local authority in your preferred area. For more informtion within your area please follow the links:
You must also be registered with Homebuy
