CHP Charitable Trust grants help towards ‘Fair Finance For All’ campaign

Ref pr0090

CHP Charitable Trust, part of Chelmer Housing Partnership, will hand a cheque for £5,000 to Essex Savers on Monday 21 August at 10.00 a.m.

Essex Savers provides affordable accessible savings and loans for anyone who lives and works in Essex. The financial co-operative also plays an important role in providing access to advice and education about managing money, as well as working with local schools to encourage savings and challenge the culture of buying on credit.

This cheque is a grant from CHP Charitable Trust and will be put towards extending the co-operative’s service in Chelmsford and developing further services across Essex in the future. A previous grant of £5,000 from CHP Charitable Trust helped to set up Essex Savers in 2004. Dave Cotterill, New Business Director at CHP said: “Tackling financial exclusion is one of the Trusts’ main aims. Although Essex is thought of as a relatively affluent area, there are pockets of great need so we are delighted to support the work of Essex Savers who are actively helping people manage their finances and as a result, improving their quality of life.”

Alison Davies, President of Essex Savers, says: “The support from CHP Charitable Trust will help enormously in the expansion of our services and work towards the aim of providing fair finance for all.”
