No rent to pay for six months!

A very happy Chelmer Housing Partnership couple have received the news that they are the lucky main winner of the housing association’s premierplus competition. Mr and Mrs Taylor of Danbury will be rent free for six months.

“I’m thrilled,” said Mr. Taylor. “I didn’t think it was possible but someone has to win I suppose! I thought I’d misheard or that it was a joke! I had to phone back the next day to check how long the rent free period lasted for and that I hadn’t got it all wrong!”

The lucky winners, Ron and Jan Taylor have been living in a CHP bungalow for ten years. “I think the premierplus scheme is excellent. It’s always the people that don’t bother to do anything to look after their homes that end up getting the work done. We very rarely contact CHP to ask for something to be fixed. When our gate fell of its hinges I just took it of and fixed it myself. This is an ideal home for us and we like to keep it nice and comfortable.”

Competitions and other promotions are an important and ongoing part of Chelmer Housing’s premierplus initiative. Launched in October 2005, this reward and incentive scheme recognises loyal and responsible tenants who care for their homes and communities by giving them extra benefits such as discount cards for local and national outlets and priority access to property improvements and services.

Hundreds of Chelmer Housing residents entered the numerous premierplus competitions and other winners include: Mrs D Wager of Boreham who chose a washing machine from a list of possible household appliances; Miss Fennel of Chelmsford who enjoyed a meal for two at Chelmsford’s Waterfront Restaurant; Mr & Mrs Gladding of, Writtle and Miss Frost-Grimsey of Chelmsford who both won a £25 Sainsbury’s gift voucher.
