CHP staff donate money to J's Hospice

30/01/2006
Ref: pr0080

Staff from Chelmer Housing Partnership recently raised over £350 for The J's Hospice. Employees of Chelmer Housing Partnership donate gifts from suppliers and contractors to a staff raffle and all funds raised have been given to J's Hospice. The collection of gifts included champagne, wine, chocolates, biscuits and gift vouchers.

The J's is a new charity recently launched in Essex with the aim to build and equip an age-appropriate Hospice. The Hospice will offer emergency and 24 hour respite care for young adults with life limiting conditions.

Natalie Blackburn, Technical Support Team Leader at CHP said: "We felt that raising money for J's Hospice was a worthwhile cause mainly because it's so new and that it's one of only two hospices in the UK catering for young adults 18 to 40 years of age. Staff kindly donated gifts from suppliers in order to help raise funds through a raffle."

Denise Whiffin, Founder and Trustee of the J's Hospice said: "All the donations we receive are gratefully accepted. The money donated by CHP staff will allow us to help achieve our goals."
