Survey response helps Little Haven Children's Hospice

Thanks to 58% response rate to a tenants' satisfaction survey CHP has donated £100 to Little Haven Children's Hospice - chosen by Chelmer Tenants Forum to receive the money.

Brian Shedley, chair of the Chelmer Tenants Central Forum, said:

"We wanted the money to go to a children's charity and we all know of the invaluable work of Little Haven Children's Hospice so our decision was unanimous."

James Butcher, Human Resources Manager of Little Haven Children's Hospice said: "we are really grateful for the money it will go towards "sponsor a nurse" fund - A fund to pay for the salary of a nurse."

Jim Farrow, Performance Manager at CHP said: "It's thanks to the tenants for their response to our survey that we're making this donation."

Little Haven Children's Hospice, a local charity, provides short-term respite care for children with a chronic illness and their families.

Chelmer Tenants' Forum

Chelmer Tenants' Forum is a group of tenants from across the Borough who represent the views of all CHP tenants.

Their aims are to improve communities and ensure that tenants issues are heard and listened to.

The Central Forum consists of two nominated representatives from each of the 6 Area Groups equating to a membership of 12.

Little Haven Hospice provide

  • Short term respite care for children and their families.
  • An environment which inspires trust and confidence for children and their families.
  • The opportunity for parents to devote more time to siblings and other family members.
  • Support to the family as their child dies, whether at Little Haven, at home, or in hospital.
  • Pre and post bereavement support.
  • A superbly equipped purpose-built hospice for family-centered care and accommodation for up to 52 family members at any one time. The hospice has an indoor and outdoor play area, a hydrotherapy pool and multi-sensory room.

There are three levels of accessibility under the Web Accessibility Initiative - "A", "AA" and "AAA". It is intended that all pages on the Chelmer Housing Partnership website will conform to at least Priority 2 "AA" rating.
