Staff at Chelmer Housing Partnership raised £377.35 for CHESS, one of Chelmsfords short stay night hostels - £177 through their *Schedule 1 raffle Christmas raffle and £200 donated to CHESS instead of sending Christmas Cards to suppliers.
Chelmsford Chess exists to relieve hardship and distress of Chelmsford's homeless from whatever cause by providing instant access to emergency accommodation and support services and providing assistance towards a settled way of life. "News of the donation came just at the right time," said Hillary Spriggs, manager for Chelmsford CHESS. "We are desperately trying to find funds for CCTV to monitor our house. This cheque will help us reach our target and is much appreciated - thank you!"
"The link between us is obvious," said Tina Barnard, Resources Director at CHP. "I think its important for us all to support one another in our aim to improve the quality of life of people in Essex."
