Grants from CHP Charitable Trust

 

The Trust has now awarded the following grants:

Chelmsford City Football In The Community Project
Part of Chelmsford City Football in the Community - initiative - £300 for coaching and equipment costs to support a project set up by young people on Melbourne.

Chelmsford Environment Partnership
£500 contribution towards printing costs for leaflets, BBQ food, bird boxes, willow and a willow tutor for an Open Day during Easter 2006 to promote community allotments on Melbourne.

Hearing Help Essex
£284 grant for 3000 leaflets which explain the work of Hearing Help Essex. Previous grant of £2,500 in 2005.

Chelmsford Volunteer Centre
£10,000 to the donation to part fund the Volunteering Promotions Coordinator to raise the profile of volunteering and recruit and train volunteers in Chelmsford.

Chelmsford Council for Voluntary Service
£5,444 donation towards the running costs of the funding and support bureau for the voluntary sector.

Arts Development Team of CBC
£1,000 donation towards Arc theatre performance and drama workshops for young people in the Melbourne area.

Meadgate Church
£340 to Meadgate Church for a bouncy castle at the Meadgate festival on 4 September 2005.

Essex Youth Build
£30,000 donation spread over two years towards the cost of delivering a construction training programme, incorporating work placements and accredited training for young people on court orders.

Essex Boys Clubs
£10,000 to help fund the Respect programme in Chelmsford, promoting the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of young people through outdoor activities, arts and training.

Chelmsford’s 2005 YMCA’S Y-Festival
£2,000 grant towards the running costs of this year’s Y-Fest at Central Park held in August with over 1,000 young people attending each day. For more information about the YMCA download CHP’s in Your Neighbourhood (April 06).

Chelmsford Women’s Aid
£38,000 awarded over three years towards the cost of rent for the Women’s Aid Resource Centre in Chelmsford. For more information about Chelmsford Women’s Aid download CHP’s in Your Neighbourhood (November 05).

Alzheimer’s Society
£750 grant towards the cost of a photocopier. For more information about the Alzheimer’s Society download CHP’s in Your Neighbourhood (May 05)

Essex Savers
£5,000 contribution towards the costs of setting up of a credit union.

Hearing Help Essex  
£2,500 donation towards running costs and partnership working including Hearing Help sessions at CHP sheltered schemes and deaf-awareness training for frontline CHP staff. For more information about Hearing Help Essex download CHP’s in Your Neighbourhood (January 05).

Boreham Parish Council
£7,500 towards play equipment on the recreation ground, following a consultation process involving young people.

Chance 2 Change Project
£2,400 awarded to Emma Morris Associates to run an 8 week programme for young offenders in Chelmsford aimed at reducing anti social behaviour and the risk of re offending
 
Essex Youth Service
£1,700 for 6 DJ/MC workshops in Melbourne for young people.

Millrace Furniture Restoration Co-operative
£7,000 towards the running costs of this group working with adults with mental health problems and offering City and Guilds level training in furniture restoration.

Relate
£5,792 to provide 3 hours a week of counseling sessions during 2007 for CHP tenants and their families.

Farleigh Hospice
£28,015 over two years towards the cost of a Chelmsford based Specialist Community Nurse to provide support at home for patients with life limiting illnesses.

Hanna’s Field Charity
£5,000 towards the cost of safety matting for the outdoor sports wall on playing fields at East Hanningfield.

Chelmsford YMCA
£2000 towards the cost of their celebrating youth talent event in August. This is the second year of Trust support for this event.

Essex Savers
A further £5,000 contribution towards the expansion costs of this credit union across Chelmsford and Essex                    

Café Life
A grant awarded of £550 towards kitchen equipment, furniture and publicity for their popular neighbourhood family events.

Great Baddow Village Design Statement Association
A grant award of £500 to Great Baddow Village Design Statement association towards the cost of producing a village design statement for the village of Great Baddow.

League of Friends of Chelmsford Community Support Resources Centre
A grant award of £500 towards the running costs of their new minibus in 2007.                     

Chelmsford Council for Voluntary Service
£7,286 towards the cost of running their Funding and Support Bureau during 2007

Chelmsford Environment Partnership
£1,000 to provide seating and patio area, raised beds with planters for plants and seeds at the Melbourne Community Allotment.

Chelmsford YMCA
£2,000 – third year the Trust has awarded a grant to the YMCA for their summer celebration of youth talent.

Essex Association of Boys’ Clubs
£10,000 grant award will ensure that the programme is offered to young people in Chelmsford.

Nacro – Chelmsford Community Sports Project
£15,000 grant award towards the running costs of the community sports project based in Melbourne.

Volunteer Centre, Chelmsford
A second grant of £10,000 to the Volunteer Centre towards the cost of their Volunteering Promotions Co-ordinator.

WHCM Sycamore Counselling and Support Project in Chelmsford
£5,266 grant for a counselling and support project at St Peters College, Chelmsford.

The Charitable Trust Board met on 26th June 2007 and agreed the following grants:

Chelmsford CHESS
£5,000 contribution towards the running costs of their Day Centre in Chelmsford.

Chelmsford Boy's Club
£5,000 towards the running costs of their Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in Chelmsford.

Essex Youthbuild
£3,075 for equipment costs for their premises at Grafton Place, Chelmsford.

Essex Police
A small grant award of £1,000 for a crime prevention inititive in North West Chelmsford in response to purse thefts in the area.

The Charitable Trust Board met on 17th October 2007 and agreed the following grants:

Essex Youth Service

A small grant of £400 awarded to Essex Youth Service for their drop in project at St Peters College. The grant will pay for a TV/VCR, art and craft materials and educational games.

The Munch Club

A grant of £2,455 towards the costs of running the club for over 50 year olds living in north west Chelmsford. The club offers a healthy hot two course meal once a week and an opportunity for members to socialise.

Little Baddow Parish Council

£5,000 grant towards the costs of refurbishing an outdoor play area in Spring Close, Little Baddow.

CHARMS

£3,998 to Charity Action for Relief of Multiple Sclerosis for the refitting of their oxygen chamber at Grafton Place, Springfield, Chelmsford.

Families InFocus

£5,000 grant towards the cost of Families InFocus Family Worker Support Project in 2008. The project supports Chelmsford families of children and young people with disabilities/special needs and their carers.

Mid Essex Gay Men’s Initiative

A small grant award of £830 to assist with the setting up costs of the group in Chelmsford in 2007/8. The group offers a drop in facility, provides support, organises social events and provides information on sexual health, alcohol and drugs.

Home Start Chelmsford

A small grant award of £830 towards the cost of running their Family groups in 2008. Home Start provides friendly support for families with young children – offering visits, practical assistance, reducing isolation and improving the well being of families.

There are three levels of accessibility under the Web Accessibility Initiative - "A", "AA" and "AAA". It is intended that all pages on the Chelmer Housing Partnership website will conform to at least Priority 2 "AA" rating.
