When Chelmer Housing Partnership took ownership of the Chelmsford Borough Council housing stock in 2002, we had ambitions to develop new affordable housing, not only in the Borough but across Essex.

We are now providing a range of new and affordable homes across Essex neighbourhoods through the Essex Development Partnership, a strategic development agreement, set-up between CHP and the Flagship Housing Group.

Our development programme comprises an approved new homes programme of over 500 units across six local authority areas (Basildon, Castlepoint, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Thurrock and Uttlesford) and a planned programme of 2,500 units across Essex.

Our combined programme comprises a range of property types and tenures and includes general needs rented and low-cost shared ownership and accommodation for 'key workers' in both rural and urban settings that meet identified local housing need.
